How to Spend A Day in Positano
In my opinion, Positano is the most beautiful town on the Amalfi Coast, and I daresay one of the most beautiful places in the whole world. The colorful houses along the water had me speechless -- this place is really what dreams are made of, and it's easy to see in one day. I loved it so much that I went to Spiaggia Grande, Positano's biggest beach, twice during my trip to the Amalfi Coast.
1. Arrive early and make your way to Spiaggia Grande. If coming by ferry, you'll get dropped off right there. By bus, it's about a 15 minute walk from the top of town to the beach.
2. Stop for lunch with a view. Around 1:00 we left Spiaggia Grande and explored the artisan shops and boutiques before making our way to lunch. Positano is adorned with purple flowers that wind around buildings and alleyways, it's just beautiful. We ate at La Sponda, the restaurant at the hotel Le Sirenuse. The food was delicious but in smaller portions than we would have liked, but the view was absolutely worth it.
3. Spend the rest of the day at the beach. Spiaggia Grande is the most popular beach, but we spent the rest of our day at Fornillo, a more secluded one.To get there just walk passed the ferry dock at Spiaggia Grande. Another beach we would have went to if we had more time is Bagni d'Arienzo, a private beach that you take a boat to.
And just remember, if you get lost on your way to Positano for whatever reason, with views like this it isn't so bad....
